Position : Vice President, Global Procurement

RESPONSIBILITIES
GLOBAL COMMODITY AND SUPPLY CHAIN SOLUTIONS
- Spearhead and provide leadership in building end-to-end global and integrated commodity and supply chain strategy and solutions
- Build strong supply chain infrastructure, process and system globally and meeting best assurance of supplies, cost of supplies and quality of supplies
- Continually build supplier base to support customers and organisational needs
- Develop supplier relationship management to attain ‘customer of choice to suppliers and partners’
- Spearhead group’s activities, relationship and capabilities development with suppliers and partners
- Align all supply chain strategies with various functional and operational groups with standardised key and strategic functions, processes and systems across the entire group
- Build and train strong supply chain personnel across the organisation
- In regions where local requirements need to dominate for practical reasons, the incumbent will apply knowledge and expertise to assist the local business units in strategy development, tender execution, contract negotiation and supplier performance evaluation
GLOBAL PRICE NEGOTIATION
- Develop grounds up approach to costing of key commodities, examples are plastic, sheet metals and other new key strategic components
- Tracking of key commodity material pricings for current and new suppliers
- Develop global best pricing and benchmarking methodologies
COMPLIANCE TO REGULATIONS
- Ensure all aspects of regulatory compliance are adhered to with regards to the respective supply chain policies and external requirements
- Implement strategies that safeguard the company’s contractual and commercial risks
AUTHORITY
- Work with all the function heads to build and strengthen end-to-end integrated supply chain capabilities and competencies in the group
- Is the key representative to work with suppliers and supply base
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Engineering or a related discipline. MBA will be advantageous
- Minimum of 15 years experience, with at least 5 years spent in a similar capacity preferably in a manufacturing or related environment
- Have excellent understanding of in overall supply chain functions including supplier base and management, manufacturing needs and logistics and shipment management
- Skills, knowledge and experience in strategic planning and operational execution
- Strategic mindset with a dynamic drive to drive change
- Strong leadership in team development and teamwork enabled by strong interpersonal, influencing and conflict resolution skills
