Job Description:
As the Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our factory operations, driving efficiency, and implementing strategies to optimize productivity. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a pivotal role in transforming our operations to meet the highest standards of excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership:
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the factory operations team, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Oversee all aspects of production planning, scheduling, and execution to meet production targets and customer demands.
- Implement best practices for resource allocation, equipment utilization, and workflow optimization to enhance operational efficiency.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence throughout the organization.
- Performance Management:
- Set clear performance targets and KPIs for the operations team, regularly monitoring performance and driving accountability.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to address inefficiencies, reduce waste, and enhance quality.
- Implement robust quality control measures to ensure adherence to product specifications and regulatory standards.
- Drive a culture of data-driven decision-making, leveraging analytics to drive operational improvements.
- Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration, empowerment, and accountability.
- Establish clear roles and responsibilities, and provide guidance and support to ensure team members are equipped to succeed.
- Promote a safe and inclusive work environment, prioritizing employee well-being and engagement.
- Change Management and Transformation:
- Drive organizational change initiatives to instill discipline, foster a change of mindset, and promote a culture of ownership and accountability.
- Lead the implementation of new processes, technologies, and systems to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Champion a culture of innovation and continuous learning, encouraging experimentation and adaptation to new challenges.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Proven track record of success in operational leadership roles within the manufacturing industry, with a focus on metal die casting and/or other metal related industrial manufacturing.
- Experience managing large-scale factory operations, preferably in metal die casting manufacturing or related industries.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve results.
- Demonstrated ability to drive change, implement process improvements, and deliver results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and metrics to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Willingness to be based in Malaysia, and open to short or long-term commitment based on company needs.
