Job Title: Director, New Product Introduction

Job Summary:
Our client, a leading Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) provider, is seeking a Director of New Product Introduction (NPI) to drive and oversee the successful introduction of new products into global manufacturing operations. This role requires a strategic leader with extensive experience managing high-volume NPI programs, handling U.S. customers, and leading cross-functional teams across multiple projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in global operations and a proven track record of managing complex NPI processes within the EMS industry.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Lead the overall NPI function, ensuring seamless integration of new products into global manufacturing operations.
- Team Management: Direct and mentor a team of 5-10 NPI managers, providing leadership, guidance, and performance oversight.
- Project Oversight: Oversee multiple concurrent NPI projects, ensuring on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and alignment with customer expectations.
- Customer Management: Serve as the primary NPI interface for key U.S. customers, ensuring strong relationships and meeting their specific requirements.
- Operational Execution: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, supply chain, operations, and sales) to drive smooth product transitions from design to mass production.
- Global Coordination: Work closely with international teams to manage high-volume NPI activities across multiple manufacturing sites.
- Executive Reporting: Provide regular updates and strategic recommendations to the CCO and CEO regarding NPI progress, challenges, and business impact.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement best practices and process improvements to optimize NPI efficiency and effectiveness.
- Travel Requirements: Some travel will be required to meet customers, visit manufacturing sites, and oversee project execution.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a senior management role within a Tier 1 EMS company, leading NPI or related functions.
- Industry Expertise: Deep understanding of EMS industry operations, high-volume production environments, and global supply chain dynamics.
- Leadership Skills: Strong capability in leading and developing teams, with experience managing multiple managers and projects simultaneously.
- Customer Relations: Proven experience in handling U.S. customers and understanding their unique needs within the EMS sector.
- Global Perspective: Experience managing international operations and coordinating NPI efforts across multiple geographic locations.
- Communication & Influence: Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
