Senior Pre-Sales Consultant (IT Middleware)

The Information Systems’ software is adopted by leading companies in every industry covering 80% of market share in Japan and ranked No.1 for ten years in a row and was ranked 2nd in the area of Worldwide System-Centric File Transfer Vendor Share (revenue) and 1st in APJ

The software is used in over 40 countries and the client is looking to penetrate into the ASEAN market.

With this background, we are looking for a person, as an engineer, eager to develop a career in business development, and would like to take this challenge and to collaborate with other team members working on various tasks to make our client the global leader in the market.



Achieve the client’s business goals in ASEAN collaborating with team members from other regions through the following roles and responsibilities.

The company will support technical and business skill development so as to build good relationship with enterprise customers and partners.


Partner Development and Enablement

  • Work with the company’s sales representative to develop and enable channel partners in ASEAN
    • Make and execute business plans by partner
    • Plan and execute product trainings
    • Help partners sell the company’s products to customers: Discover customers’ needs, implement product demonstration and POC, make proposals and work on technical closing
    • Work with technical support and product development teams based in Tokyo to help partners resolve issues smoothly at customer’s site

Assistance of High-touch Sales

  • Work with sales representatives on global deals which are led by other regions and make sales calls to customers in ASEAN to close deals
    • Understand customer’s current and desired status especially in data transfer/integration and discover their issues and needs from technical perspectives
    • Deliver product demonstration and POC for technical closing
    • Make valuable proposals to meet the needs of customers and be able to differentiate the company’s products from competitors

Execution of Marketing Events

  • Help plan and execute marketing events in ASEAN targeting both end-users and channel partners to increase brand recognition (working with other team members)
  • Speaker at events as a part of evangelizing

Contribution to continuous products and services improvement

  • Provide continuous feedback and ideas on product improvement and enhancements to the product development team in Japan HQ




To apply for this position as one of the core members of the startup, the ideal candidate needs to have at least 5 years experience in pre-sales and would like to further develop skills and career in business development.


Mandatory Skills, Experiences, and Competencies

  • 5 years experience in pre-sales or consultant for packaged software to end-users and/or channel partners AND/OR experience in dealing with packaged software in the process of system development/integration. Experience in managing enterprise customers is an advantage
  • Leading and/or managing a project or team
  • Good understanding of architecture and configuration of IT system infrastructure
  • Be creative in providing alternative solutions to customers when issues cannot be resolved entirely by software
  • Be able to enjoy challenges and be proactive and autonomous at work
  • Versatility to work effectively under multi-cultural environment
  • Contribute to the team beyond the job description when necessary
  • Good verbal, writing and presentation skill to communicate effectively with customers, partners, and diverse internal teams


Preferable Skills and Experiences

  • Experiences in system integration including building Interfaces of systems, pre-sales, or consultant for finance, retail, ICT, and/or manufacturing industries
  • Experiences in software development in open system/AS400
  • Understanding network such as TCP/IP and HTTP
  • Experiences in trouble-shooting
  • Experience in developing demo and test environment, running POC (Proof of Concept)
  • Certificate in IT and/or project management such as CCNA, PMP, etc
  • Business experiences in ASEAN countries other than Singapore
  • Business level language proficiency in Japanese and/or Thai and/or Bahasa Indonesia is an advantage
